Cathy Moerman also reported that we received a check for $665.00 from San Luis Obispo County paying us for working the November 5, 2024 general election. Mina Lloyd asked if we could staff a second precinct in an election year to raise more money for our court. The members joined in a discussion making suggestions on how to raise money. The suggestions were as follows:
a.We work a second election.

c.We ask the Knights of Columbus if we could join in their annual dinner and auction.
Mateja Brown suggested we discuss this at a future meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
Rhonda Garris reported that she had received a text about an incident that happened during the January adoration. A woman visiting the chapel approached the altar, touched the monstrance, opened the luna inside the monstrance, and then touched the host. Rhonda asked what the protocol is if this should happen again. The court was informed that there is a pamphlet in the back of the chapel giving us directions on what we should do as monitors. After some discussion, it was suggested that we approach the person as they are headed to the altar and let them know that it is not appropriate to approach the altar. The next adoration is Friday, February 7th, 2025, from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Please call Patti Mueller if you have any questions.
Mateja Brown reported that she has talked to Yolanda Ramos about the court applying for a debit/credit card. Yolanda told her that the officers of the court usually pay with their own card and then get reimbursed, but that it was up to us if we wanted a card. After some discussion, it was decided not to get a card and to keep financial reimbursements the way they are.
CDA convention is April 24th - 27th in Visalia, California. Our standing rules state that one person per year is to receive $500.00 to attend. Judy Ruiz made the motion we raise the amount to $700. 00. Amy Baptiste seconded the motion and the motion passed.
